Your council

This Council is well known as a progressive rural Council. One of the smaller NSW Councils, it is highly regarded for the instigation of its profitable private works programme. The Jerilderie Shire Local Government Area is located in the southern Riverina and shares its boundaries with Urana, Berrigan, Conargo and Murrumbidgee Councils. With recent amalgamations, it is now the second smallest Council in NSW. Council's Vision Your Council's Vision Statement is "To provide a high quality of life for residents of the Shire". This statement reflects Council's commitment to managing resources, assets and growth that supports and strengthens our lifestyle and environmental values. History Jerilderie Shire Council was declared in 1918 after the amalgamation of the former Municipality of Jerilderie (1889 - 1918)and Wunnamurra Shire (1906 - 1918).Today the Shire has a resident population of approximately 1,950.
